Can break after system updates, and I think some inputs still can crash the backend. Want automatic check that pings me when things are down.

I don't know how you're hosting the Brittany service, but there are many SaaS tools for checking the availability of websites: https://alternativeto.net/software/pingdom/. I've used Uptime Robot and liked it.
